Privacy Policy
This notice explains what happens to your information when you use this website — when you send a message, join the email list, add your name to the waiting list, or book a session. It is written to be read, not to protect me.

Who is responsible for your information
PsychBody is the practice of Clíodhna O’Carroll, sole trader, based in Dublin, Ireland. Under data protection law I am the data controller for the information described here.

What this notice covers
This notice covers thepsychbody.com and the forms on it. If you go on to become a client, you will be given a separate notice covering session records, supervision, and the limits of confidentiality, and you will have the chance to ask questions about it before we begin.
Please do not send clinical detail through this website
A website contact form is not a confidential clinical setting. When you write to me for the first time, share only as much as you need to in order to ask your question — you do not need to explain your history to get a reply. What matters can be spoken about in a session, where it is properly held.
What I collect, and why
The contact form
Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message. I use these to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to arrange that. Legal basis: your consent when you send the form, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries about the practice.
The email list and the free guide
Booking a session
Your name, email address, phone number, the session you chose and the time you chose, handled by the booking system on this site BookingPress . If a payment is taken, it is processed by Stripe. I never see or hold your full card details. Legal basis: performance of our agreement, and my legal obligation to keep records of payments received.
The waiting list
Your name, email address, and anything you choose to tell me about what brought you here. I use this only to contact you when a space opens. Legal basis: your consent. I keep waiting list names for 1 year.
Blog comments
If you comment on a post, WordPress stores the name, email address and comment you submit, along with your IP address, in order to check for spam. Comments are moderated before they appear.
Visiting the site at all
My hosting provider WordPress / w-academy keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security. The site is built with WordPress and Elementor, which set cookies needed to make pages work. I don’t use any other analytic sites at this time.
Who else sees your information
I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for advertising. It is held by the services I use to run the practice, each of which acts on my instructions:
- Kit — the email list and the delivery of the free guide.
- WordPress— website hosting and the email that reaches my inbox.
- Booking Press & Stripe — appointments and payments.
- Teams – for online sessions
Some of these companies are based outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the safeguards their contracts provide, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
I may also share information where the law requires it, or where there is a serious and immediate risk to someone’s safety. If you are a client, the circumstances in which that could happen are set out plainly in your client agreement.
How long it is kept
- Enquiries that do not become work: 1 year, then deleted.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe.
- Waiting list: 1 year, then deleted unless you ask to stay.
- Booking and payment records: as long as Revenue requires, currently six years.
- Client session records: as set out in your client agreement, in line with IAHIP / IACP / ICP requirements.
your rights
- You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can ask for your information in a portable form. Write to hello@thepsychbody.com and I will reply within one month. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.
- Some records I am obliged to keep e.g. payment records, and clinical notes for the period my professional body requires — so a request to delete everything may not be possible in full. If that applies, I will tell you which records are affected and why.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28 — dataprotection.ie.
COOKIES
Cookies are small files a website leaves on your device. This site uses the ones needed to make pages load and forms work. You can delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Children
This practice works with adults, and this website is not intended for anyone under 18.

If this notice changes, the new version appears here with a new date at the top. If the change is significant and you are on the email list, I will tell you
